SeaPerch Program
The Center for STEM Education, Cato College of Education, UNC Charlotte hosts a Regional SeaPerch Competition based on the National SeaPerch student competition.

Register by March 29, 2024 at this link. SeaPerch Charlotte will be held April 12, 2024, 1 pm – 7 pm. UNC Charlotte campus Belk Gym pool, Building #17 on the UNC Charlotte Campus Map.
The Charlotte SeaPerch competition is April 12, 2024.
In this competition students will design, construct, and operate an underwater Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) to perform a series of tasks. Students will also be required to complete the electronic notebook on their design process. Electronic notebooks will be judged and is one of the competitive events for your students.
Competition Elements:
- Obstacle Course – The Obstacle Course tests high-speed maneuverability and requires the SeaPerch ROV to navigate the course as quickly as possible.
- The Mission Course incorporates a mission related to Ocean Exploration. Teams will lead an exploration effort including mapping an area, removing marine life from an underwater station, and retrieving samples in an underwater environment.
- Technical Design Report – The Technical Design Report communicates your intentional design process.
