K-12 STEM Conference

The Center for STEM Education is please to present the 2024 Annual K-12 STEM Conference on January 2, 2024 from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the UNC Charlotte Mebane Hall (Cato College of Education). K-12 practitioners and researchers will provide stimulating sessions for novice and experienced professionals in the following areas of interdisciplinary specialization:

Science
Technology
Engineering
Arts
Mathematics

We are pleased to host Mr. Sam James, NASA, as our guest speaker. He is a senior technician in the Aerospace Composite and Models Development Section in the Manufacturing Applications Branch at NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC) in Hampton, Virginia. He received a B.S. degree in Industrial Technology at Elizabeth City State University in May 1987. He was hired by NASA Langley in 1987 and entered NASA’s apprentice program. He provides NASA’s research and development team with the fabrication of scaled research model aircraft and spacecraft concepts, used to collect research data on structural and flight characteristics. Mr. James was born and raised in Elizabeth City, North Carolina and has 11 siblings with eight sisters and three brothers.

Please consider your participation as a presenter or attendee. Presenters are asked to submit their proposals by Friday, December 1, 2023. Please submit your proposal here. Attendees are eligible to receive 0.8 continuing education units (CEUs) or 8 hours of contact for full participation only. Registration is available here until December 18, 2023.
